Hello Ladies!

My name is Chloe Sekhran, and it is my privilege to serve as Chapter President of the Sigma chapter of Alpha Chi Omega. First off, WELCOME to our website! There’s a lot of great information on here to allow you to learn more about our wonderful chapter.

Like most women, I wanted to go through sorority recruitment to find a home away from home, and I also thought that it would be an amazing way to make new friends. As soon as I walked into Alpha Chi Omega, it felt just like that - home; I could never quite explain it, but it always felt like I could be myself at Alpha Chi without having to ever put up a front. The conversations just seemed to flow so naturally, and I could tell that each of the women I talked to were people who would support and encourage me to be the best possible version of myself. It was one of the highlights of my freshman year to open up my bid card on Bid Day and realize that I was officially a part of something bigger than myself; I was officially an Alpha Chi Omega woman.

I have enjoyed every second of being a member in this sorority for the past two and a half years. I have made lifelong friendships that I wouldn’t trade for the world, gained incredible leadership experience, and had so much fun along the way. A home away from home is what I was looking for during recruitment, and it’s absolutely what I have found at Sigma. Serving as Chapter President is such an honor for me, as I truly feel that it’s the best opportunity for me to give back to a chapter that has provided me with so much.

Above all else, it’s been the passionate and dedicated women who I get to call my sisters that make me so proud to be an Alpha Chi. We have won Iowa Fraternity & Social Life Best Chapter Sisterhood Award for five years in a row. We
have sisters involved in organizations all over campus, including Dance Marathon, Student Government, Panhellenic Executive Council, Rho Lambda Honors Fraternity, and so many more! My sisters remind me daily of what being an Alpha Chi Omega is really all about, and I cannot think of a better way to describe them than Real. Strong. Women.

I want to invite you to look around our website to learn more about the history of our organization and to learn about all of the things that make Sigma such an amazing chapter to be a part of. If you ever have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at chloe-sekhran@uiowa.edu.
